The study aims to determine the safety and effectiveness of the ingredient on improving long- and short-term memory, concentration, and clarity of thinking in healthy individuals. The study is planned for completion in November.
Farlong Nutraceutical (Walnut, CA) is investigating the safety and effectiveness of its LifeflowerBreviscapine ingredient in a 90-day, double blind, randomized, controlled, parallel study. Lifeflower Breviscapine is an active flavonoid component extracted from Erigeron Breviscapus that contains more than 90 percent of scutellarin, which has been shown to enhance memory, cognitive function, and brain health.
In the study, led by clinician Melanie Montgomery, PhD, of LifeAlyze LLC, 160 healthy subjects are divided into four groups and administered either placebo,100 mg/d, 200 mg/d, or 400 mg/d of Lifeflower Breviscapine for 90 days. The study aims to determine the safety and effectiveness of the ingredient on improving long- and short-term memory, concentration, and clarity of thinking in healthy individuals. Subjects will be given three separate evaluations every 30 days to assess their cognitive thinking, concentration, clarity of thought and general brain functions, along with having vital signs checked and bloodwork analyzed. The study is planned for completion in November.
